AIL: wide-reaching patient support for blood cancers in Italy
AIL is an Italian organization that provides patient support and education for people affected by a variety of blood diseases. In this video, Felice Bombaci from the AIL patient group for chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), Rome, Italy, discusses the patient outreach work conducted by AIL, as well as how the organization works with healthcare professionals to facilitate the best possible patient care. This work includes the roduction of educational resources like leaflets, the organization of discussion sessions between patients and practitioners, as well as the formation of patient-led support groups.
